To our supporters,

I hope you and your loved ones are well. This is a challenging time for everyone, and we want to take a moment to check in, update you on what’s happening at the Centre, and say thank you.

Our physical office is currently closed, our regular programs have been cancelled, and our staff are working from home. As we always do when our office is closed, we are providing free condoms and pregnancy tests at the office doors for anyone to stop by and pick up.

We want to reassure you that our organization is weathering this storm. We are in solid financial shape right now and we feel so grateful for that. We are fortunate to have generous and loyal donors, funders who believe in our work, and a resilient staff, board and volunteers who have quickly responded to our rapidly changing world.

Because of this, the work you support is still going strong, and we’re ensuring our clients and the community are supported during this difficult time. From moving our counselling sessions to video and phone, to developing online sex-ed curriculum for youth, to reaching out to vulnerable clients to ensure they’re connected to other resources such as financial or mental health support, I am so proud of how our staff have leapt into action.

We are particularly concerned about isolated LGBTQ+ youth during this time, and our staff have been finding innovative ways to connect. Xtra Magazine recently covered the work we’re doing in this article: https://bit.ly/2yvyEwF.

We know that many of you will have been negatively impacted by this pandemic. If we can support you in any way during this time, please reach out. We are here for you. You are an important part of Centre for Sexuality’s community, and we know that together we will get through this.

Sincerely,

Pam Krause
