Free 2026 Training for Rural Professionals!

Thanks to generous funding from RBC, we are offering free Training Centre workshops for organizations in rural settings in Alberta, including Indigenous- and newcomer-serving organizations. We have funding to train up to 1,000 professionals in any of the following workshops:

This funding covers workshop fees not including travel and mileage, so in-person sessions will have come costs associated with travel. We can offer virtual workshops as well!

We train professionals and community members across industries including education, post-secondary, health and medical, social services, community organizations, corporate and hospitality. We also provide workshops to support parents and caregivers talking about sexual well-being with their children as well as specific programming for parents of 2SLGBTQ+ youth.

Our offerings cover a range of topics: sexual health, 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion, allyship, consent, boundaries, violence prevention and client-centered care. Our workshops are tailored to each client to align the activities with participant learning needs.

  • Diversity and 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusion: From general 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion to allyship, we support organizations advance their knowledge and capabilities for supporting and engaging with the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We offer a specific workshop focusing on Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer people, as well sessions for service providers who work with specific populations like youth in schools, unhoused populations, newcomers or older adults.
  • Sexual Health: We offer trainings to build capacity for service providers to engage with their clients about sexual health topics including STBBIs, healthy and ethical relationships and trauma- and violence-informed care.
  • Consent and Violence Prevention: We have developed a suite of workshops to support professionals in understanding consent, boundaries and violence prevention.
  • Client-Centered Care: Through workshops focusing on topics from trauma- and violence-informed care, intersectional stigma, allyship, the natural supports framework and population-specific topics, we support organizations and staff to better meet the needs of diverse clients.

Workshops can be delivered in person or virtually. We have capacity to facilitate trainings at our location in Victoria Park or at a location of your choosing. Travel within Calgary is covered in our fees.

Most of our workshops are three hours. We can offer shorter sessions like webinars or lunch-and-learns depending on the content.

Standard workshops are best with between 8 and 35 participants. Webinars and lunch-and-learns can accommodate more participants.
