Reprom is just two weeks away. Looking to get into the prom spirit? Take in Theatre Calgary’s show-stopping musical inspired by Canadian Marc Hall’s true life story of his fight to bring his boyfriend to prom. This is the first LGBTQ+ show Theatre Calgary has brought to their stage in 29 years, so you can also be a part of a little history, and celebrate the diverse communities that make up our city.

At the age of 17, Marc fought for his right to take his boyfriend to his high school prom and won, igniting a movement in Canada and inspiring other young people to stand up for what they believe. Marc, who now lives in Calgary, is hopeful this show helps audiences think critically about what’s happening around them, and while we have progressed a lot since 2002, we still have a long ways to go.

“It’s incredible to be able to tell my story in this fun and beautiful way. Even though this happened 18 years ago, the story and the messages behind it are still relevant today. There are still individuals struggling with how to feel safe in today’s world being themselves.” – says Marc Hall.

The Louder We Get is bringing people together in a celebration of a story that is about support, community and love. Bringing stories like this to the Theatre Calgary stage, that celebrate our unique stories, can make us think or see things from a different perspective. That’s the power of theatre.

And to bring even more people through their doors to see this production, they have some special offers available:
