Healthy Relationships Program (HRP) for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual + (2SLGBTQIA+) Youth

We are a proud partner of Western University Centre for School Mental Health. We have been trained to deliver the Healthy Relationships Program (HRP) for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual + (2SLGBTQIA+) Youth.

The Healthy Relationships Program (HRP) is a small group positive mental health promotion program for gender, sexual, and romantic minority youth. It helps build resiliency and promote well-being among 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. It affirms, validates, and celebrates sexual and gender diversity, cultivates a caring and supportive community, and helps 2SLGBTQIA+ youth develop skills and strategies that promote healthy relationships.

HRP is a trauma-informed, strengths-focused program that explores stressors unique to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, including

  • identity and expression invalidation

  • stigma

  • prejudice and discrimination

  • internalized oppression

  • coming out

  • safety

  • microaggressions

Booking the HRP Program

The program includes 17 sessions covering a variety of topics, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. Schools, community-based organizations, and service providers who are interested can request as many sessions as their group is interested in. It is meant to be youth-led, so they are encouraged to pick the topics that meet their needs.

For more information on the program, including how to book, please contact our Program Facilitator.
