This engaging and interactive workshop will provide participants with greater comfort and skill in identifying harmful masculine norms and addressing these with the populations they work with. Participants will increase their knowledge of gender norms around masculinity and how these norms can potentially negatively impact individuals, leading to health-harming outcomes. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal attitudes, values and beliefs related to working with men and boys and masculinity in order to move toward a more supportive and affirming practice.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with practical tools for fostering more health-supportive outcomes when working with men, boys and masculinity.
