Centre for Sexuality is excited to present an interactive and free full-day workshop for parents and their daughters in Grades 4-6 to explore healthy friendships!
Parents will learn tools to support their daughters with healthy friendships and decision-making, and girls will explore how to build and maintain positive relationships. This workshop will consist of separate workshops for parents and kids, and then in the afternoon we will come back together to share our learnings and participate in activities.
The workshop will run from 9:00AM-3:00PM at Lakeview Community Association in the Main Hall. Lunch and learning materials will be provided.
Please note that we have limited space available. We have capacity for 6 parents and 6 children per workshop. When ordering a ticket, please select only one ticket for both you and your daughter. Please email us if you need accommodations around this criteria. The spots will be first-come-first-serve, so please register as soon as possible. If you find out later on that you are unable to attend after registering, please let us know or cancel your registration on Eventbrite to leave room for others. There is a waitlist function available that will assist with this process.
During these workshops, will be observing strict COVID procedures. This includes COVID screening, mandatory masks, hand sanitizer, physical distancing, taking temperatures, and tracing forms. Please bring your own mask.
This is the first of two separate workshops. The second is on December 12, 2020 and will address the topics of Body Image & Media Literacy. Registration is now open for both. Priority will be given to those who have not attended the first workshop on Healthy Friendships.
