Community-Based STI Testing
In partnership with Alberta Health Services, we are excited to offer a pilot of a community-based sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing night at the Centre for Sexuality on Tuesdays from 3 to 7 pm. This service will provide free, confidential STI testing services out of our office in Downtown Calgary. Due to the great response from the community, our community-based STI testing night has been extended to the end of December 2019!

When: Tuesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm
Where: Centre for Sexuality (700 – 1509 Centre St SW)
What: This service will offer standard STI testing, provided by a Registered Nurse. This includes a urine or pee sample, a blood sample (taken from the arm), and some swabs to test for common sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV. The testing process will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes, and is confidential and free.
Unfortunately, this service will not provide Pap testing or physical exams (such as those to examine any bumps or sores). If you are looking for those tests, please visit your doctor or a walk-in clinic, or check out other STI testing options. This service also will not offer rapid HIV testing or vaccinations. If you are a gay, bisexual, or other guy into guys, please visit our Gay Men’s Health Program page for more information.
If you have any questions about the services provided, please contact us.
Book an Appointment
We offer both appointments and drop-ins for this service. Our appointments open one week in advance, and often fill up fast. Our appointment slots are at 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00 pm. The rest of the night will be reserved for drop-ins.
If you can’t make an appointment, you can still come for a drop-in. These slots often fill up fast, so we recommend getting here early for your best chance of being seen. We start accepting walk-ins at 3:00 pm.
We do our best to see as many people as possible but can’t guarantee that you will be seen. You can call in advance to ask us about the wait time by calling 403-283-5580 (press 0).
